Accrington Stanley - From conception to creation

In 2017 we were asked by their architects for a design to suit this exciting new project at the Wham Stadium. The club were demolishing their old 'Cowshed' stand and wanted to provide a family-friendly stand with just over 1000 seats, along with new facilities to the rear.

Stadium Solutions is delighted to showcase the new 1100 seated stand built for Accrington Stanley FC. In 2017 we were asked by their architects for a design to suit this exciting new project at the Wham Stadium. The club were demolishing their old 'Cowshed' stand and wanted to provide a family-friendly stand with just over 1000 seats, along with new facilities to the rear.

We streamlined their blueprint to our lightweight, 6 row seated design to provide a simple, long-lasting, cost-effective solution. The stand is designed with three disabled bays at each end to provide plenty of disabled access and has optimum line of sight for all spectators.

With money raised by the club being matched by Football Foundation funding, we were invited to meet the club and main contractor building the facilities behind the stand, and after discussions it was decided to award us the contract.

We have exceeded expectations in terms of building timescales, having completed the stand well ahead of the club's big 50th Birthday home game against Bradford City on 13th October 2018.

Named shortly before completion as the "Eric Whalley Stand" in honour of the club's former chairman and owner, this is a robust, clean cut creation meeting all of our client's criteria, and another project of which we are very proud.
