Extensive redevelopment project undertaking major work on all four of Fratton Park’s stands

North Stand

  • Design of concrete re-profiling and re-alignment of gangways and egress routes to lower tier.  Manufacture and installation of circa 4,000 seats to lower tier

South Stand

  • Design of completely re-configured lower and upper tiers, including vomitory and egress route re-working
  • Design, manufacture and installation of bespoke steel re-profiling system, composite terracing and new seats to lower tier, and new seats to upper tier

East Stand

  • Design, manufacture and installation of new extended rear concourse and associated staircases and external/internal cladding systems
  • Design of concrete re-profiling and re-alignment of gangways and egress routes to seating deck
  • Design, manufacture and installation of bespoke safe-standing system to seating deck

West Stand

  • Design, manufacture and installation of circa 1,500 safe-standing positions
  • June 2021: Portsmouth FC announce a multi-million pound redevelopment of Fratton park that will take place over the next 4 seasons
  • Club has continued to face major challenges to meet ever tightening health and safety regulations across all areas of stadium
  • Stand redevelopments would not only increase capacity, but also provide enhanced access to modern facilities for both home and away disabled fans, as well as flexibility in how to efficiently accommodate visiting supporters
  • Key benefits include improved access, new concession facilities, increase concourse areas, new seats, new electrical infrastructures and a longer-term decoration programme, along with the provision of accessible facilities for disabled supporters in all four stands

Project Scope

As part of this extensive redevelopment plan, we are undertaking major work on all of the stadium’s four stands. Upon project completion, the stadium will offer improved accessibility for all fans, including the provision of accessible modern facilities for disabled supporters. The stadium will have a like-new feel with the introduction of new seats and an internal decoration programme.

The redevelopment of the stands will increase Fratton Park’s capacity whilst effectively accommodating visiting supporters. We are committed to ensuring that the ongoing work has minimal impact on the matchday experience for all fans, and we are dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment at the stadium throughout the process.
