Salford City Football Club

In 2016 we were delighted to be awarded the contract to redevelop Salford City's much-loved but tired ground at Moor Lane. After gaining two promotions and with new owners including ex-footballers Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, the club had big plans to succeed in full-time football and build an all new stadium.

This significant project required much of the material for the external cladding and roof sheeting to be specially sourced to meet the exact needs of the client. We built the stands using a unique sheeting design with mesh panels to match the architect's vision, creating a stunning effect when completed.

One of the challenges we faced was Storm Doris early in the build but steelwork continued to go up to keep to programme, although our team were very wet and windswept while advertising boards flew around the site! TV cameras captured each stage of the build as part of Sky Sports' documentary series "Class of '92: Full Time" showcasing the club's journey into a full-time club and the ground development.

We successfully completed the fourth and final stand up to full capacity in time to accommodate crowds lucky enough to watch Salford's highly anticipated charity match in November 2017. This special day saw the legends of the Class of '92 play on the pitch at the newly named Peninsula Stadium.

Salford City's new ground showcases our lightweight stands, quality ground improvements and attention to detail in its entirety and we continue to build products on site, most recently more turnstiles in Spring 2019. We are very proud to have supplied the complete solution for our client.
